FLYNN & CO: Santa Barbara Zoo in the Rain Too!

When Scott and I woke up this morning we decided to take the girls to the zoo before we saw the weather. We told the girls and then I was greeted with the down pour out my kitchen window as I made coffee. We decided to pack the rain gear and just go for it and make the best of our day as a family. Boy were we rewarded for our taste for adventure - after Heidi recovered from her little bought of car sickness (apparently that will now be the caveat of every family outing now- poor baby girl, she got that from me).
The crowds and rain were light (the sun even popped out for a little bit) and the animals were alive with activity! We got to play on Ant Hill and not have to share it with anyone else! The girls just loved how fast it was while it was wet! Holly got to feed a giraffe and watch the condors spread their wings and bask in the sun to dry out. We had a picnic lunch with the elephants and ended our adventure at Whodidily Cupcake Shop in Montecito (http://www.whodidily.com/)!
It was a wonderful day and the rain made it even more special!
