Colorado or Bust

Well we took our first family vacation to Colorado to visit Papa, Missi, Nana Mary and Nana Pat.  We planned this trip five months ago and  could not of planned it any better in the event that Daddio ended up having to have open heart surgery. I got to be there for a very serious time and that was such a blessing in so many ways.
We did have some time to give the girls a bit of taste of what a family vacation is all about.  We stayed at Farish Memorial. This is a military resort that my father ran for 25 years and built it up to what it is today.
We went to the North Pole Amusement Park that is at the base of Pike's Peak, Holly got to see Tangled with Daddy, and they went to the Dinosaur Museum in Woodland Park, CO.  Flying with the new TSA issues was not as bad as the media has portrayed.  I guess being with two small children and all the support gear did not raise any red flags :-).
All in all the trip was a success and my father is now in recovery mode post all the ups and downs of the week.  Flynn & Co have a lot to be thankful for this year.

This ride still looks the same from when I was a kid!  Holly loved it!

Believe it or not, it was snowing on us on this ride!
